4×4 Toyota 4Runner
The Toyota 4Runner has been around for years upon years and it still is one of the best SUVs you can purchase. It drives highway and city streets with ease, but I must admit that you would have an absolute blast with it off-road. Its suspension is extremely responsive. If you drive up a dirt hill you can feel relaxed and let any signs of stress stay hidden, because the 4x4 option on the 2010 4Runner can match any terrain.

The 2010 4x4 Toyota 4Runner isn’t just a great vehicle for taking on the off-road side of driving, but it’s a relatively quite SUV. There’s no induction noise and no exhaust note either. As a matter of fact the 2010 4x4 Toyota 4Runner is a Land Cruiser. It’s based on the Toyota’s Land Cruiser Prado. The Land Cruiser Prado is sold in just about every market except here in North America. So I guess this 4Runner must be Toyota’s way of saying they’re sorry.
If the Jeep Wrangler’s 4x4 drive and control satisfied you, then the 4x4 Toyota 4Runner will definitely please your off-road needs. The 4Runner’s standard A-TRAC system is excellent at distributing power to the wheel that has traction.
On the ceiling of the 4Runner is a panel. It houses the controls of two wonderful off-road technologies. The first off-road technology is the Crawl Control (CRAWL). It’s an “electro-mechanical” system which Toyota says “can be tuned to match the terrain by choosing any of the five speed levels.” It basically controls the throttle and breaks over rough terrain. This is done so that you can focus on the direction of the vehicle. The second off-road technology is the Multi-Terrain Select. It allows the 4x4 system to match the terrain. For example if you happen to get caught in loose terrain such as mud or sand, the Multi-Terrain Select will kick in allowing more wheel-spin to work in the vehicle’s favor. When on rough, bumpy roads or solid rock the wheel-slip is actually minimized and the system behaves more like a limited slip.
The 2010 4x4 Toyota 4Runner is the fifth generation 4Runner and it’s looking like the best one yet. If you get your hands on this vehicle you will understand just how powerful this SUV drives off-road. But this vehicle is more than just for taking off-road. I love the smooth handling it has and the comfortable ride it provides. Without a question - the 4Runner is still in control of the mid-size SUV market.
